Company's first mobile app features reservation system

CorkSharing, the world’s first marketplace to schedule and book wine tasting, winery tours, and wine events, has launched its mobile application. The app, which is free to download, makes it easier for wine lovers to book a reservation on the go and pre-pay for the tasting. The CorkSharing app is available to download from Google Play for Android users and the App Store for iPhone users.

Bryan-Petro“We wanted to bring together wine lovers and those new to wine with wineries using innovative tools,” explains Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Bryan Petro. “Our CorkSharing cloud platform has been doing just that since its launch by bringing the wine tasting experience into the twenty-first century. Now, we’ve added another level of accessibility by making mobile reservations possible with this app release.”

Founded in 2013 out of Livermore, California, CorkSharing is the first community of its kind for wine enthusiasts. Wineries from around the world are able to post tastings, tours, and special wine events using the online platform. Wine lovers can browse listings that meet their taste preference and budget, then reserve and pay for them online. The mobile app, released earlier this week, allows users to book a reservation directly through the app, pre-pay for the event, and send a message to the host.

Kiefer-Waight“The feedback we’ve received from users of the online platform has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Kiefer Waight, CorkSharing’s Chief Technology Officer and co-founder. “The preliminary responses from our mobile app users have been just as favorable. The wine space has been stagnant for years so it’s no surprise that wine lovers have responded so positively to a tool that modernizes and connects the community like never before.”
